The first Sindhu Darshan Yatra in 1997 was led by Sh. L.K. Advani, the then Home Minister, a revolutionist with traditional roots. This significant yatra was envisioned and brought to life by Shri Indresh Kumar, a social reformer and nationalist leader. Since its inception, the Sindhu Darshan festival has been organized annually, and the year 2025 will mark the 29th Sindhu Darshan Yatra.
The yatra was initiated to:
✅ Celebrate National Unity – Bringing together people from diverse backgrounds.
✅ Revive Cultural Heritage – Honoring the Sindhu River, which gave India its name.
✅ Promote Spirituality – Encouraging devotion and traditional rituals at Sindhu Ghat in Leh, Ladakh.
Every year, thousands of yatris participate in this grand pilgrimage, offering prayers and celebrating India’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy during the Sindhu festival.
